Client Portal: Signup & Sign-on

This article will guide you through the process of signing up and signing into your pantry's online portal (online store, appointments, registration, or visits).

Initial Guidance

Finding your Pantry's Online Portal.
If your pantry has online functionality like online registration, online appointment scheduling, or an online storeyou can find your pantries online portal URL from the admin dashboard: 

  1. Click on Your Name
    Click on your name in the upper right corner of the PantrySoft screen.
  2. Select "Account Settings"
    Select "Account Settings" from the drop-down menu. 
  3. Your Pantry's URL
    Your pantry's URL will be listed in the "Storefront Login URL":

Note: If you'd like to log in as a client to see your online store, be sure to open a different browser or use a private window. PantrySoft will not allow you to be signed in as a pantry User and a Client at the same time. 


Recovering your Username and Password. 
Clients will have to have login credentials (a username and a password) to use your pantry's online portal. They might already have them!

Here are a number of ways clients might already have received their login credentials:

  • They may have already created their login credentials when they were online previously. 
  • Your pantry may have created credentials for them in person during their last visit. 
  • Your pantry may have given them credentials over the phone. 

 

If one of these rings a bell, but they can't remember their credentials, clients can try one of these recovery strategies: 

  1. Click Forgot Password
    The site will ask you for the email you used, and it will email you new credentials. Use these to login.
  2. Admins at Your Pantry Will Have the Means to Reset Credentials and Email Them to Clients
    • To do this, enter the client screen and select the "pencil" icon next to "Enabled" to edit the customer information. 
    • In the "Edit Customer" screen, enter and re-enter the new password: 

Sign Up or Signing In

If you're assisting a returning customer who already has their login credentials, see the Signing In section below.

If this is a clients first time using the pantry and they have no login credentials, see the Signing Up section below.

Signing Up

Below are the steps for clients to sign up for the first time:

Translation/Language Toggle. At any time, clients can click on the translator icon on the top right of the screen to change languages. Click for more information on the Translator.

 

  1. Access the Client Portal
    Navigate to your pantry's Client Portal website.
  2. Create a New Account
    Click or tap Sign Up to create a new account.

  3. Fill Out Fields
    Enter your first name, last name, username, email, and password.
    Passwords must be at least 8 characters in length and must include at least one uppercase letter (A-Z), lowercase letter (a-z), and number (0-9).
    If Account Number appears, use your pantry-assigned account number. (Each pantry has its own Account number convention; for example: Student IDs, Driver's license Numbers, or an arbitrary internal number).

  4. Save Your New Account Information.
    Click or tap Sign Up to register your information. You will return to the initial login screen. Now you can Sign In.

Signing In

Clients will follow these steps to sign into your pantry's online portal (store, appointments, registration, or visits): 

  1. Enter Username and Password
    On the login screen. enter your Username and Password
  2. Login
    Click or tap Login.
