How to Complete a CSFP Recertification in PantrySoft
If a participant is still enrolled in CSFP but their current certification has passed its expiration date, you can quickly complete their recertification in PantrySoft using the Quick CSFP option. This method expires the old CSFP record and creates a new one so the participant is active and certified again.
What happens during Quick CSFP recertification
When you create a new CSFP record using Quick CSFP for a participant who already has an open CSFP record:
- The existing CSFP record is expired
- A new CSFP record is created
- You are taken directly into the certification step
- The participant can be returned to an active certified status
- The previous CSFP record remains in the system as part of the historical record
This supports PantrySoft’s CSFP workflow by keeping certification records current while preserving past program history.
Steps to complete a recertification
-
Open the participant’s household record
Locate the household and confirm which member needs to be recertified. -
Click the Quick CSFP option
Select the lightning bolt icon to begin the quick CSFP workflow. -
Choose the household member
Select the participant you are recertifying. -
Select “New CSFP”
Choose New CSFP to start a new certification record. -
Review the system prompt
If there is already an open CSFP record, PantrySoft will let you know that continuing will:- expire the old record
- create the new one
In a recertification scenario, this is the expected result.
-
Review member details
PantrySoft will open the participant’s details so you can verify their information. This is a good time to update anything that has changed before creating the new CSFP record.
-
Click “Save and Create New CSFP”
This saves any updated member details and opens the new CSFP certification record. -
Complete the certification action
At this point, PantrySoft takes you directly into certifying the client. You will typically have two options:
- Save and Notify if the participant has already been notified
- Save and Exit if you want to keep the record pending notification for now
-
Confirm the new certification status
Once saved, the old CSFP record will show as expired and the new record will be open. The participant is now certified again and no longer appears expired.
