Visit types allow you to define the kind of visit a client makes, such as in-person visits or food drive participation. Follow this tutorial to learn how to create, edit, and track visit types for your organization.
How to Manage Visit Types
Visit types allow you to define the kind of visit a client makes, such as in-person visits or food drive participation. Follow this tutorial to learn how to create, edit, and track visit types for your organization.
Steps to Manage Visit Types
- Access Client Account
- Log a New Visit or schedule an appointment
- At the top of the visit entry screen, you will see the visit type dropdown.
- Note that the system defaults to an "in-person visit." For example, if Buck is coming in to pick up items for the weekend, you would use the in-person visit type.
- If the client is attending a different type of event, such as a food drive, select the corresponding visit type from the dropdown.
- Once you have selected the appropriate visit type, click Save and Exit. The visit record will now store the visit as the selected type, such as a food drive visit.
Customizing Visit Types
- Access the Setup menu
- Select Picklists and then select the pencil icon to edit Visit Types
- Add new Visit Type
- Click Add to create a new visit type. Enter a descriptive name that reflects the type of visit, such as "Workshop Attendance" or "Holiday Assistance."
- Save Changes
- Once you have added the new visit types, click Save and Exit.
- Expand Visit Types (Optional)
- You can add as many visit types as needed to describe the services you provide and want to track, such as food distribution, in-person support, or other community programs.
Visit Frequency Rule for Visit Types
- Once you have your visit types in order, you have the ability to create a specific limit on how many visits one can make for a given Visit Type. Have a holiday food drive that only allocates one visit per household? This is where Visit Frequency Rules come into play.
