An effective method for measuring food in PantrySoft involves managing your food inventory using pounds as the unit of measurement. To get started, create a dedicated category for pounds of food within your inventory system. If needed, you can also set a limit for this category. Additionally, consider customizing the background color to help differentiate it from other inventory categories.
Following this, you will add an item to the pounds of food category, assigning it a clear name such as "pound of food." You can establish a price point, for example, $20, and indicate the quantity, such as a 10-pound box. Moreover, you have the option to impose restrictions on the quantity that each individual can purchase, allowing, for instance, only one per customer.
When a customer selects the pound of food item at checkout, the system will clearly display its value and weight. Any changes made to the quantity will automatically adjust the total cost.
Once the checkout process is finalized, you have the ability to save the transaction details and create a report. This report may encompass information regarding the total value of the pounds of food items sold, as well as the overall weight that has been distributed.
